The love of a big brother

This morning Avery was in her room when I heard her start to cry. I went upstairs to comfort her (I think she bumped her head) and while I was in there Blake came up too. Avery immediately held her arms wide open with tears streaming down her face. She wanted a hug from Blake and once she got it, she was fine.
Then, this afternoon, Avery went with Dana while I took Blake to speech therapy. While I was putting Avery in Dana's van, Blake came in because he "wanted to see Avery and say good-bye to her."
I am so fortunate to have my children love each other more than fight with each other. At least for now anyway-I sure hope it stays this way.

We went to the zoo for an hour before supper tonight. Thank goodness we live so close. There were lots of new babies, so I kept saying "there's the mommy and the daddy and the babies". So for the rest of the time we were there, whenever we saw any babies Avery kept saying "mommy, daddy, babies." It was so cute! There was a mommy duck and her ducklings in the pond this time and when we were feeding them the mommy was taking the piece of bread and dividing it up between her ducklings. The power of motherhood. We'll go hungry, so that our babies won't have to. This is one of the first times I've actually really watched an animal at the zoo. It's amazing what you'll see when he can take the time to observe.

I know what you mean about the babies-perfect time to be at the forestry farm. We went today too. Don't you just love the little baby goats!
